تبتدأ هاذه المسرحية بوفاة احدا الزعماء العرب . عادل امام يلعب دورزينهم مواطن فقير وبسيط جدا و لاكنه كان يمتاز بشبهه الشديد لزعيم الراحل. كان للزعيم القديم الكثير من الاعداء نضرالاستبداده ,فقرر شراكئه تاجيل نبء وفاته وتغيره بزينهم حتي يستولو علي الحكم بطريقة تامة و يتخلصو من عدائهم. في بداية الامر كان عادل امام يعتقد انه يقدم خدمة الا وطنه و لاكن رويدا رويدا اكتشف اغراضهم الدنيئة وقرر اصلاح الوضع في بلده.
